On The Ideal Life & Job
For this assignment, we need to think about the characteristics of an ideal life & job. These are mine:
Ideal Job
- Problem solving
- Impacting others
- Leading from the trenches
- Positive role model
- Coaching others
- Celebrating others
- Writing
- Helping people achieve their goals in life
- Flexible time
- Contributing to the whole and heard at all levels - not just a cog
- Building successful teams
- Encouraging personal growth
- Freedom of creativity
Ideal Life
- Lots of hugs and love
- Patience
- Open mindedness
- Open communication
- Lots of family time
- Exploring and adventuring
- Finding meaning in even the smallest things
- Learning through playing - creative curriculum
- Compassionate
- Morals and ethics - solid, even when challenged
It is interesting how items on the two lists compliment one another. For instance ideal job list #3: leading from the trenches compliments ideal life list #4: open communication. These compliments are reminiscent of Stephen Covey’s concept of a whole person in a whole job (2005).
